Hi everybody!

First off I would like to make it clear that this image is a collaboration. The line art is not mine, but was drawn by Daniel Alexander. Whereas I provided the colors.

With that clarified: San Diego Comic Con is right around the corner and several of the artists over at Satellite Soda (including myself) have come together in order to bring out a second Satellite Soda art book! The image above was created specifically for the book, alongside a whole slew of other original and unseen pieces of art.
For a preview of the actual book, go here!

Below is one of six promotional cards (this specific one obviously being created from the main image in this thread), which we'll be passing out at the con with all the info you would need to find us:

Also of course any type of feedback on the image itself is more than welcome. I know I for one haven't been active here in forever, but this is pretty big for us so if you happen to be there, and any of this sounds interesting to you, then be sure to stop by and say hello!
Hope to see as many people as possible there!

Best regards!

Dead Bear is Red

This is a piece of fan art that I did for fun. The characters in this piece belong to the Red Bear Dead universe, which was created by Alex Stodolnik (check out his website, if you're not familiar with it - it's awesome).
I think I started this piece over a month ago, but it's a bit hard to tell since I had to constantly take extended breaks in order to make room for homework and, like, Christmas and stuff. I've been wanting to do some RBD fan art forever now, so finally I did.

Here are some in progress shots, if anyone is interested: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven

Always Funk

This is an illustration I did in my spare time, just as an excuse to really try and render something again. It is based on the left hand side of this image, which was an assignment for class. Basically we had to make three post cards according to three themes (Dreams, Confessions, Psychological Fear), but I just wanted to paint again, so I decided to take the one I liked most to the next level.
Basically I'm trying to mix things up a bit compared to my other images by incorporating some different elements, like the flat art nouveau decals. I'm a pretty big fan of blending graphic design elements with illustration, but I'm also a pretty big noob at graphic design. So any kind of input is definitely appreciated!

Here is a bigger version as well.

The character depicted is the Chairman Badfunk, courtesy of Dylan McCrae and Satellite Soda.

RIA Vol.1 Cover

This is the cover to the first issue of the comic "Ria: The Legend of Light", which we are currently producing here in Berlin. The comic itsself isn't done yet, but we're hard at work on it, and it will probably be out in stores sometime next year. It will probably be published in France, by Soleil. Not entirely sure about overseas publishing, we still have to look into that.

Anyways, IMPORTANT: I didn't draw this. I am the colorist. The pencils for this illustration were provided by Thorsten Kiecker (http://www.stenarts.com) . Colors were done by me entirely in Photoshop CS 2.

Any thoughts and suggestions are more than welcome! Let us know what you think. Is this something that would catch your eyes if you saw it in a store?

Avatar Faceoff

This is a scene from the Nickelodeon show "Avatar" that I reconstructed with very extensive creative liberties (basically the only similarity is that these two characters meet), for those of you who don't know what this is. And if you don't, SHAME on you, because Avatar is a damn excellent show.
I started with this image probably two months ago, and had to put it on hold constantly for extended periods of time, because of other work. I thought that once I'd graduate from highschool I'd also have a lot more free time. This did, in fact, turn out not to be the case at all. But I had vowed to do more original finished pieces like this, and here we go.

Any and all comments very welcome! I hope you can enjoy this as much as I enjoyed making it.

Also, here is a larger version of the image, for those interested.
